GeekSpot.net was created out of the frustration of ordinary people being ripped off!

    I created GeekSpot.net because a friend of the family took their computer to a reputable computer repair shop in the Antelope Valley, and when the computer was finished being repaired, some of the hardware was missing, the software was not installed properly, and the hard drive was replaced with a smaller partition. There was gigabytes of data missing (the hard drive was reformatted without the owner's knowledge), and some of the applications that were previously installed no longer functioned. He came to me out of desperation, and didn't know what to do. We assisted him in how to contact the repair shop, and how to respond to the statement he received: "Sorry, too bad we can't help you." It was at that point that I realized that there was something I could do... open my own business.

    I was determined to provide quality IT support at an affordable price. I started GeekSpot.net, and relied on word of mouth and business cards for advertising. I kept my day job as a computer support technician on Edwards AFB, and worked evenings and weekends providing assistance for friends and acquaintances. I had done some web development in a previous life, so I continue with simple points of presence on the web.

    Since the day of inception, I have sternly believed that if I can't fix the computer, printer, or network issue I was contacted to troubleshoot, I can't charge for my time. I know what small business needs are, and am well aware of how something as simple as creating a backup disk before formatting a hard drive can ease the pain of having to reset all your preferences are. I have studied for, and passed several certifications on topics that I did previously have enough knowledge on, and am still studying today.

    I am Erich Reinhart, and I believe that there is no reason anyone should have a computer that does not respond in an appropriate manner. I remove virus's, spyware, and return computers to a working state daily, and I would like to assist you with your computer-related problems.
